Convertix Web Privacy Policy
This policy explains which data Convertix Web processes, why it is needed, and the choices available to you. Conversion files remain processed locally in your browser.
Controller and contact
Convertix Web is published under the Eternity Labs brand. To exercise a right or ask a privacy question, email privacy@eternitylabs.fr. The legal information published in the website’s legal notice supplements this policy.
Files processed locally
The units, calculator, color, text, image, PDF, OCR, audio, and video tools run in your browser. Images, scans, PDFs, and media you select are not uploaded to Eternity Labs servers, and Convertix does not create a cloud file vault. Working copies and previews may exist temporarily in browser memory during the operation. Convertix serves the OCR engine and its French and English models, which are then cached by the browser.
Direct media URL
If you voluntarily provide a direct HTTPS media URL, your browser contacts that URL’s host with credentials omitted and without an Eternity Labs proxy. That host therefore receives the network request required to download the media, while Eternity Labs receives neither the URL nor the file.
Currencies and historical value
The Convertix server retrieves and caches public datasets from the European Central Bank, the European Commission, BCEAO, BEAC, and the World Bank. The amount you enter and the conversion calculation stay in the browser. For historical value, only the requested territory is sent to the Convertix server; public data sources receive neither your files nor your account identifiers.
Optional account
A Convertix account can be created to manage quota, Premium access, and preferences. The service then processes your email address, hashed password, language, email verification, acceptance of terms, sessions, technical security information, newsletter consent, export or deletion requests, subscription, and access rights. Conversion operations store the tool name, access mode, status, and timestamps, never the processed content, result, or file.
Free quota and security
The quota allows one free conversion every 24 hours. For a free account, the server records the last successful conversion and next availability to enforce this rolling window. Without an account, a necessary signed cookie assigns a random identifier for the same purpose; it expires after 90 days. A pseudonymized HMAC of part of the network, renewed monthly, is used to limit abuse; the raw IP address is not stored by this mechanism. With an account, sessions use an HttpOnly cookie and expire after 30 days.
Premium access codes
When a signed-in user voluntarily redeems an access code, Convertix stores the promotional entitlement reference, beneficiary account, validity dates, and status. This data is used only to grant and manage the corresponding Premium access.
Stripe payments
As of August 21, 2026, Convertix uses Stripe’s test environment only: no real payment is collected and automatic tax is disabled. An explicit action can send test account and billing data to Stripe. If live payments are enabled later, Stripe will process the payment, billing, subscription, and compliance data required for that service; Eternity Labs will not receive your complete card number.
Newsletter
Newsletter registration is optional, unchecked by default, and independent from account creation. Your choice and its date are retained to document consent or withdrawal. You can change this preference at any time from your account.
Local storage, cookies, and audience
The browser may retain your language, theme, favorites, and Convertix histories, including calculator history. The website also stores your privacy choice. Audience measurement stays disabled until you accept it; after consent, technical navigation events — page, random session identifier, country, language, referring domain, and optional campaign — are sent for aggregate analysis, without file content, then retained for no more than 13 months. Convertix does not use advertising cookies.
Hosting and recipients
The application, PostgreSQL database, and operational email service are hosted on OVHcloud infrastructure configured by Eternity Labs. Stripe receives data only when needed for a test payment flow or, if later authorized, a live one. The ECB, European Commission, BCEAO, BEAC, and World Bank are queried server-side and do not receive your files.
Retention and deletion
Local preferences remain in your browser until you clear them. Anonymous subjects expire after 90 days and account sessions after 30 days. A deletion request closes sessions and places the account in a pending state; data is then deleted or anonymized, subject to applicable legal and accounting duties. Verification and reset tokens expire promptly and are purged after their technical retention period.
Your rights
You can review and change preferences, export your account data, request account deletion, and withdraw newsletter consent from the Account area. You may also request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, or objection by emailing privacy@eternitylabs.fr. You may lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
